Wild Welfare is a global organisation committed to improving animal welfare for captive wild animals. By working together with animal welfare organisations and captive wildlife facilities, including zoos, aquariums and sanctuaries, we achieve long-term and sustainable solutions to the most critical issues facing wild animals in captivity. Our vision is a world where every captive wild animal is able to thrive and live a good life. Founded in 2012, Wild Welfare is a UK registered charity working globally to improve welfare for wild animals living in captivity. We are the first captive wild animal charity that is solely focused on improving welfare standards by uniting animal welfare NGOs and captive wildlife facilities around the world. Our projects help wild animals living in poor conditions in captivity. Using our knowledge and experience we build constructive relationships with animal welfare organisations, captive wildlife facilities and local communities, ensuring changes can be made to improve animal welfare.

Story

Thanks for visiting our page! This year we have an amazing team from Explore, Hotelplan and Inntravel taking part in two events to raise funds for Wild Welfare.

Firstly, we have two runners (Joe and Andy) participating in The Big Half marathon in London on Sunday 3rd September 2023. Our #Welfare Warriors will be undertaking 13.1 miles through central London, taking in some of its iconic landmarks along part of the famous London marathon route, to raise funds to reduce animal suffering and improve the welfare of captive wild animals around the world!

We also have a valiant team of three runners (Rachael, James and Wild Welfare's Director Simon) taking part in the Great North Run on Sunday 10th September 2023. Starting in Newcastle, the 13.1 mile route crosses the spectacular Tyne Bridge before heading towards the coast and the finish line in Gateshead.

To Explore, our runners and supporters, we are so grateful for everything you are doing to support our work, it means the world to us and the people and animals we work with! We wish all the runners the best of luck in their training and on race day. We'll be cheering you all the way!
