Story
Last year 136,000 young people asked for help from their local council because they were homeless or at risk of homelessness. Moreover, young people are the *fastest growing* age group of rough sleepers in London.
New Horizon Youth Centre is London’s only youth-specific homeless day centre. We provide a ‘one-stop’ space for any young person seeking a safe place to call home, providing both immediate help and long-term support. Under one roof young people can get a hot meal, shower, housing advice, support into emergency and long-term accommodation, support with their physical and mental health, life-skills development (e.g. art, cooking, sports, ESOL), guidance into jobs, education and training opportunities, and the chance to build community from shared-experience.
We work to break the cycle of homelessness and create change via our services and campaigns: for as long as young people are homeless or unsafe in London, we’ll be here to give their potential a home.
“New Horizon has definitely been the most important part of going into my adult life. I wouldn't be where I am now without New Horizon.” Issy, 21
