About #TeamPurple
This year we were set to have over 100 runners take part in the 40th Virgin Money London Marathon for MS-UK. Unfortunately the official race which was postponed from April to October has been cancelled due to the current pandemic.
Our wonderful runners will have the opportunity to run the streets of London in the coming years. Some of the team are also taking part in the the first ever virtual marathon this October with friends, family and returning #TeamPurple members.
The 40th Virgin Money London Marathon will take place on Sunday 04 October as a virtual event with thousands of people taking part across the world, embracing the spirit of the London Marathon by running, walking or jogging the 26.2 mile distance in their own communities.
Please support #TeamPurple in this mighty challenge which will be even more challenging without the roaring crowds we normally see at The Virgin Money London Marathon to spur them on.
Your support means so much to our fundraisers, our charity and the MS Community. It has been an extremely difficult year for MS-UK with all of our regular events being cancelled. We are predicting a loss of £300,000 this year due to Covid-19.
We are determined to continue to be here to provide vital information and emotional support to help anyone affected by multiple sclerosis live happier and healthier lives.
The pandemic is not over and there are more uncertain times ahead, but together, with your help, we can ensure people living with MS emerge from lockdown safely and with the right support. It costs £2,520 to run the national MS-UK Helpline for just one week and a single counselling session for someone struggling with their mental health costs £50, so any donation you can make, big or small, will help us sustain our all-important services. Thank you!
