We are working with local schools in Charnwood to provide devices to children supporting children who are at risk of falling behind in education because they do not have technology to take part in online lessons during lockdown.

Equality Action is a community-based charity which has been established in Loughborough for 50 years, working hard to support the most vulnerable in our community.
We launched this campaign after speaking to local schools and seeing how hard they were trying to support their students. The concern of children falling behind due to access to technology was high. We are working hard to support schools in Charnwood that are struggling with digital exclusion. According to Ofcom, around 9 per cent of children in the UK between 1.1 million and 1.8 million do not have access to a laptop, desktop, or tablet at home. These children are primarily from disadvantaged backgrounds and at risk of falling further behind with their education.
