Story
Being diagnosed with cancer when you are just starting to make your own way in the world is hugely challenging. Teenagers and young adults with cancer have specific needs in cancer research – the types of cancer that young people are diagnosed with are usually different to those in younger children or older adults. Their treatment side effects can be unique, and their support needs can be very different.
We know the priorities in teenage and young adult cancer research – including those that young people with cancer themselves say are the most important areas to focus on. But there is limited dedicated research funding for these priorities, and our Teenage and Young Adult Cancer Research Fund aims to change that.
Our Research Funds are part of our exciting plans to fund and support pioneering research into cancers affecting children, teenagers and young adults. You can find out more about the research we fund on our website.
