Our Purpose SBC supports people going through breast cancer. We provide a sanctuary of strength, compassion, and empowerment, where those diagnosed with cancer unite to share their stories, learn invaluable coping strategies, and find solace in the unbreakable bond that fuels hope, resilience, and the courage to conquer adversity.

Story

Story

SurvivingBreastCancer.org (SBC) was started by a young breast cancer survivor in 2017 with a mission to empower those diagnosed with breast cancer and their families from day one and beyond.

How It Works:

Participants may do a solo hike or group hike with friends, family and neighbors. If a hike is not for you, no problem a walk, or stroll totally works, the goal is to spend time outdoors with friends and family.

Join our Facebook group in order to connect with others in your local area.

On October 19th we hike (walk, stroll, run, or just celebrate being outside!)

What If I Cannot Hike?

That's perfectly okay! We recognize that carrying a cancer diagnosis or living with metastatic disease can weigh heavily on our packs. This is why we encourage you to participate in any way that feels manageable and enjoyable for you. Whether it’s taking a gentle walk, a leisurely stroll, or simply spending some quality time outside in nature, your involvement is valuable. Join us in embracing the outdoors in the way that suits you best and supports your well-being!

Where Can I Hike?

The short answer is, anywhere! Find a path you love and get outdoors on October 19th!

SurvivingBreastCancer.org (SBC) has volunteers in select areas who will be identifying a specific location and meeting point if you are in those areas. We will continue to add to our volunteer list and locations as more become available but remember, you are not limited to these locations! You can literally organize your hike in your own neighborhood! Join our Facebook Group to get updates!
