A Decade of Dance: Why Your Support Matters
In 2015, Gemma Wright founded DNA with a vision born from a deeply personal understanding of elder isolation and its impact on wellbeing. She dreamed of a world where dance could bridge the gap between creativity and care—a space where movement could foster connection, inspire joy, and improve health.
Since then, DNA has transformed that vision into reality, becoming Essex’s leading “Dance for Health” organisation. Over the past decade, DNA has reached an astounding 200,000 people, offering innovative programmes that blend creative movement with healthcare partnerships. From older adults rediscovering their vitality through dance to caregivers finding respite and connection in our sessions, DNA has touched countless lives.
This success hasn’t come easily. It’s been built on the dedication of a passionate team, a community of supporters, and over £1 million raised from local authorities, private donors, and foundations. DNA’s impact has been nationally recognised with nominations from One Dance UK, solidifying its place as a pioneer in the field.
But the story doesn’t end here.
As DNA approaches its 10th anniversary, we are asking for your help to raise £10,000—a symbolic goal to celebrate a decade of impact and pave the way for another. Your generosity will enable us to:
Expand our reach: Bringing our programs to even more underserved communities, ensuring that the transformative power of dance is accessible to all.
Support participants and caregivers: Enhancing their experience with new resources, better tools, and tailored sessions.
Train facilitators: Growing our team to meet the rising demand for our services while maintaining the high-quality, person-centred approach that defines DNA.
Secure our future: Strengthening our ability to innovate and thrive for the next decade and beyond.
Every donation brings us closer to this goal. Imagine the impact: more people rediscovering joy, better health outcomes for those who need it most, and a stronger, more connected community.
Join us in celebrating 10 years of movement, connection, and transformation. Together, we can ensure DNA continues to change lives, one step at a time.
