In 2016, we set out to create lasting change in Malawi. The water and sanitation crisis placed a heavy burden on communities and affected every aspect of daily life. In Kasungu and Mponela, the sewer system had broken, and the nearby water source was contaminated.

Today, thanks to Thames Water supporters, both communities now have access to clean water, decent toilets and good hygiene.

Although the Thames Loves Malawi project is now complete, your continued support will help us reach the millions of people around the world still living without the essentials they need to live dignified, healthy lives.

Over the 40 years since WaterAid was founded by the UK water industry, we've made amazing progress, but we can't stop now.
