Charity Cycle Ride in aid of Camp Mohawk

Father of 3 Robin is cycling from Dalton Barracks to RAF Benson on an adapted bike to enable his 9 year old twins diagnosed with autism to join him on the challenge. He is raising money for Camp Mohawk to thank the charity for all they do for him.

The Trust provides a range of activities and services, in a beautiful setting, to support children and young people with special needs, as well as their families and carers. The centre prides itself on it's calm, friendly atmosphere that allows children and families to relax, socialise, and play.

Story

Robin became a single father of 3 children when he lost his beloved wife Katrina to cancer. Meeting the needs of their 3 children was paramount to Robin, but made even more challenging as each child has a diagnosis of Autism.

Camp Mohawk has played a very important role for Robin and his children. Providing a calm and peaceful setting to visit all year round where long standing staff are able to encourage Robin to sit down and enjoy a cup of tea during their visits together.

When Robin learnt about the difficulties Camp Mohawk faces with funding, he wanted to help as his way of giving back to the charity who have helped him so much.

Having completed a 'Ride & Stride' event in preparation for the main event, Robin, Andrew and Helena have already practised using their adapted bike loaned from Charlotte's Tandems, and raised an incredible £911 for Camp Mohawk before even starting their main challenge. But Robin has his sights set even higher and wants to raise even more for the charity he treasures so much through the main event as they cycle from Dalton Barracks to RAF Benson on Saturday 4th October.

The 'Thank you Camp Mohawk' Cycle Challenge starts at 9am from Dalton Barracks on Saturday 4th October. Please help Robin to reach his dreams of raising vital finds for the charity as his way of saying 'Thank you'.
