The Rhys Daniels Trust is thrilled and honoured to announce our participation in The Big Half London Marathon, an exciting event that brings together runners, charities, and communities for a day of fitness, fun, and fundraising. The Big Half, which takes place on Sunday 1st of September, is a unique half marathon that starts at the iconic Tower Bridge and finishes at the historic Cutty Sark in Greenwich. This event celebrates the diversity and spirit of London, making it a perfect platform for us to raise awareness and funds for our vital cause.
At the Rhys Daniels Trust, our mission is to provide "Home from Home" accommodation for families with seriously ill children who need to stay away from home for extended medical treatments. These homes offer a comforting and supportive environment, ensuring that families can remain close to their children during some of the most challenging times in their lives.
Participating in The Big Half gives us an incredible opportunity to connect with the community and share our story. The atmosphere will be incredible, with thousands of runners and spectators coming together to support various causes. We are honoured to be a part of this vibrant event and to have the chance to engage with supporters like you who share our passion for making a difference.
Your support is crucial to our success. By donating to the Rhys Daniels Trust, you help us provide essential accommodation and support to families in need. Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a significant impact.

Consider the story of the Gillingham family. Jonah Gillingham was a typical 15 year old fun loving, adventurous teenager when he was diagnosed with ALL (Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia). Jonah, who lives in Guernsey, was transferred to the Bristol Royal Hospital for Children to undergo a bone marrow transplant. His family were offered Charly’s House – one of our ‘Homes from Home’ in Bristol and it was there that the family spent Christmas – a Christmas they will always remember. Jonah’s mum Sonia said...
“It was perfect and made the whole situation so much easier. Having the house to go back to at the end of a long day was real comfort. I hope the house continues to be a haven for other families as it was for us.”
Your support helps us create more stories like Jonah's. By participating in or donating to The Big Half, you are helping families stay together and strong during their toughest times.
Join us in making a difference. Together, we can bring hope and comfort to those who need it most. Thank you for your support!
