Donate to support primary schools in Tower Hamlets afford their enriching trips and activities outside of the bare bones of the curriculum.
We're asking you to donate so we can provide schools with bursaries for enriching activities and trips inside and outside of the classroom.
Our primary schools love to go on trips with their students, from Gilwell Park to Essex and the Isle of Wight. These trips outside of the borough support pupils to develop a wider range of skills and broaden their horizons. The experience of travelling to the countryside, staying overnight with peers or taking part in a range of challenging activities, takes children out of their comfort zone to build confidence, independence and resilience.
Rising travel and activity costs make these trips almost impossible for schools and parents, especially in Tower Hamlets, where 48% of children live in households with an income of less than 60% the UK median after housing costs have been subtracted. Schools need support from charities and donations to reduce the burden of rising costs that put a barrier between pupils and experiences.
