Stemette Futures works alongside nonprofit Stemettes to engage, inform and connect the next generation of women and non-binary people into Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Maths (STEAM). We're showing that STEAM is for all, in a free, fun & food-filled way.

Story

Every major technological breakthrough has an equation behind it, and for too long, brilliant minds have been left out of writing it.

Right now, women make up just 27% of the UK's STEAM workforce, 17% of IT professionals, and 11% of engineers. Those aren't just numbers. They're futures that never got the chance to happen. Technologies uninvented, problems unsolved, and industries shaped by only half of the people who could have shaped them.

Now, we're doing something about it.

Representation isn't a nice-to-have, it's the difference between a young person switching off from STEAM at school and one who goes on to design the technology, engineer the solutions, or write the algorithms of the future. Our research shows exactly how and where that shift happens and The Ada Effect exists to put it into practice.

By investing today, you're not funding one moment. You're triggering a chain reaction that ripples through our economy, our culture, and our future; one Stemette at a time.

£10 provides a Stemette with a nutritious lunch at an event to fuel their creativity

£25 provides an inspirational STEAM goody bag for a participant helping them to build their STEAM identity

£50 covers travel for a mentee to visit a mentor's workplace, increasing their STEAM awareness through real-world exposure

£100 funds a laptop loan to close the digital divide, ensuring socioeconomic disadvantage doesn't block a young person's path into STEAM

£250 sponsors a Tap & Tinker workshop place, challenging early stereotypes by engaging primary students before gendered career perceptions become fixed

£500 funds a year in the Stemette Society, fostering a sense of STEAM belonging through a sustained peer network

£1000 supports a young person to gain an industry-recognised STEAM qualification

Every Stemette we support has the potential to become someone else's Ada Effect - the reason another young woman or non-binary person decides STEAM is for them too. Join the chain reaction and start your Ada Effect today!
