Aiden is a wonderful 9 year old boy who suffered hypoxic ischemic encephalopathy (HIE) event at birth which left him without oxygen for a prolonged time. This event has left Aiden with cerebral palsy. He is classed as non-mobile and pre-verbal but even with these challenges he has and continues to make his mark on the world. 

In this 9 years Aiden has learnt to mobilise in a gait walker and speak through an AAC device which he operates through 2 head switches. He has a wicked sense of humour, the cheekiest of laughs, is loyal and loving, takes his big brother duties very seriously and gives everything his all. 

In the last 12 months Aiden has undergone selective dorsal rhizotomy (SDR) surgery. He is now fully back to his physio baseline pre-surgery and is continuing to work on his core control, strengthening his muscles and learning how to use his new body now all the spasticity has been removed. 

Aiden also supports other charities which have impacted his life and has been part of campaigns which have brought in thousands of pounds for research and therapies so other children can benefit. Aiden is currently the youngest winner of the Pride of Essex Award which he won at 17 months old for courage, determination despite adversity. 

To provide Aiden with a full life Just4Children are asking for donations to assist him in accessing treatments us as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, hippo therapy, hydrotherapy, NAPA and Smile Intensives. Donations would also be used towards providing him with technology and equipment to access his local environment and that of the wider community.
