The Jonathan Nichols Award was established to honour the life and legacy of Jonathan Nichols, who tragically lost his battle with cancer in 2023. Jonathan was an extraordinary leader across schools in the Liverpool City Region – respected for his compassion, energy, and unwavering commitment to helping young people succeed.
He was also a devoted father and a passionate believer in the power of sport to change lives. Whether on the pitch or in the classroom, Jonathan saw sport as a powerful tool for building confidence, resilience, and community. He worked tirelessly to ensure that all young people, regardless of their background, had access to opportunities that could help them thrive. This charity was created in his memory – to carry forward the values he lived by and the change he championed. Through the Award, we hope to remove barriers to participation in sport and recognise the potential in every young person.
