Support The Bridport Prize & Bridport Arts Centre

Bridport Arts Centre in Dorset, UK is the home of The Bridport Prize. Each year, the Prize champions new writing and writers from around the world. With your support, we can help creativity thrive both locally in Dorset and internationally.

Story

The Bridport Prize seeks to find the most exciting new writers and writing from across the globe through our annual competitions, but our story began back in 1973 at Bridport Arts Centre.

Since then, the Prize has grown to become an internationally recognised platform for writers. But its roots remain firmly planted in Bridport — in the theatre, the galleries, and the workshops where creativity begins.

Entry fees help to run the Prize, but they don’t cover what it takes to invest in its future and keep Bridport Arts Centre thriving. That’s why we’re inviting our Bridport Prize community to make a donation to help our work, if you can.

Your gift helps to:

• grow and strengthen the Bridport Prize, supporting a worldwide writers' community.

• keep Bridport Arts Centre open, welcoming, and accessible for everyone in our town and beyond.

From youth theatre and community plays to exhibitions, theatre, music, dance, films, talks, and workshops, Bridport Arts Centre is where creativity happens for everyone, every day.

“Bridport Arts Centre contributed greatly to my ability to grow and develop as an artist.”

— PJ Harvey, Mercury Prize–winning musician and singer-songwriter

“Bridport Arts Centre is the beating heart of arts and culture in Bridport. Long may it continue.”

— Chris Chibnall, Writer & Producer (Broadchurch, Doctor Who, Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials)

Please consider giving the gift of creativity. Support us so we can continue to inspire others. Every donation helps.

Thank you,

The Bridport Arts Centre & Bridport Prize Teams
