Story
National Sports Day 2026 is a week-long programme designed to bring care homes, workplaces and communities together through movement, teamwork and fundraising, all in support of care workers across the UK.
Across the week, you can run fun, inclusive activities that work for everyone. Think football penalty shootouts, target throw challenges, sports bingo, quizzes, themed bake sales and office mini competitions. Whether participants are seated or standing, the focus is on getting involved, having a go and enjoying the moment together.
To make it easy, we’ve created a comprehensive National Sports Day Fundraising Pack in partnership with Be Great Fitness. Designed by specialists in inclusive fitness for older adults, the pack is packed with ready-to-run activity ideas, printable resources, fundraising tips and promotional materials. It gives you everything you need to plan your week, boost engagement and maximise your fundraising. Simply purchase the pack and you’re ready to go.
And then comes the highlight of the week…
FriYAY.
On Friday, everyone is invited to join our live streamed workout session for a nationwide celebration of fun, fitness and, yes, men in kilts. Led by expert instructors Burns Gym bringing serious energy (and signature Scottish style), this session is all about movement, motivation and ending the week on a high. Expect smiles, feel-good fitness and a shared moment of connection as participants across the country tune in together.
National Sports Day is about more than sport. It is about bringing people together, boosting wellbeing and raising vital funds so The Care Workers’ Charity can continue providing crisis grants and mental health support to care workers when they need it most.
Buy your Fundraising Pack (on sale soon), plan your activities, and get ready for a week of fun that finishes with the ultimate FriYAY celebration.
