The Dale Paterson Memorial Ride

Campaign by Autism at Kingwood

Bob Paterson organises a 45-mile bike ride each year in memory of his son, Dale, who passed away in 2005. This year marks the 20th anniversary, and funds raised will support Autism at Kingwood. Join the ride or donate!

Kingwood supports approximately 100 autistic adults, providing supported living & enabling people to live successfully in their own homes and communities. The support we offer depends on individual needs; some need 24/7 care, whilst others benefit from a little extra help to live independently.

The Dale Paterson Memorial Ride

We’d like to introduce you to these two amazing guys! On the left is Bob Paterson, loving dad to Jack, who Autism at Kingwood are proud to support.

Every year, Bob organises this 45-mile bike ride in memory of his late son Dale. In 2005, at aged just 13 years, Dale tragically lost his life in a car crash – and Jack was sitting next to him. Cycling is poignant to Bob because Dale used to cycle next to him when he went out of runs, and over the years, Bob has found that cycling has been the space to think about and talk to Dale.

This year marks the 20th anniversary of Dale’s passing, and Bob, Dale’s family, fellow LEJOGers (Lands’ End to John O’Groats cyclists) and friends want to raise money for Autism at Kingwood.

It will mean a lot to Bob if you would support the Dale Paterson Memorial Ride this year.

The ride is a 45-mile flat circuit ride starting and finishing at Cumnor Village Hall in Oxfordshire. We would welcome other families and friends to join the ride, which starts at 10am with plenty of breaks and finishing at the hall where there will be refreshments mid-afternoon. Please contact Bob - rob.paterson5@me.com.

Thank you for your support.
