Story
This will be our 9th year of running a Night Shelter in Horsham in partnership with Horsham Churches Together. During the winter months our shelter provides a hot evening meal, a bed & bedding for the night and breakfast for local people who are experiencing homelessness. Currently run by 250 volunteers focused on improving guests' well-being they are also supported with specialist advice, looking towards the future and our aim of getting them housed.
This year we are raising money to buy the specific items we need for the bedding kits. As part of taking part in our Glow Sleepout we are asking you to contribute any amount towards - £10 to buys a blanket, £15 for a pair of pillows, £20 for a single sleeping bag, £25 for a camp-bed or £72 for a full kit.
A Night Shelter user from last winter told us this:
"My journey has gone from homelessness to night shelter to renting a room. I have been experiencing financial issues with universal credit and have fortunately been helped by Horsham Matters with the Night Shelter and food parcels and other support like Sunday lunch. Without their help I really wouldn't be able to survive. So thank you. "
