This event is organised by a small group of friends and colleagues of Garda Tony Golden who was killed in the line of duty on the 11th October 2015 in Omeath, Co. Louth.

The title "The Golden 30 Challenge" refers to Tonys Garda Reg No 29909L. On joining An Garda Siochana every member gets a registered number, this number represents that Tony was the 29,909th member of An Garda Siochana.

With this in mind, we have set a target of 30,000k, it is our goal to cycle more than Tonys Reg Number. This year will be Tonys 5th Anniversary and the 5th Event so we intend to run it over 5 days from the 16th to 20th of September inclusive.
