Story
This June, a team from The Golf Trust is taking on an extraordinary challenge to highlight the inequalities faced by people with disabilities.
On average, disabled households face an additional £1,402 per month just to maintain the same standard of living as non-disabled households. This stark figure underpins our challenge.
At The Golf Trust, we believe #LeisureShouldntBeALuxury. Access to recreational sport, community, and the physical and mental wellbeing benefits of physical activities should not depend on financial circumstance. Yet for many people with disabilities, the additional costs of daily living make opportunities like sport inaccessible.
From 9th–14th June, eight players will take on the remarkable challenge of playing 1,402 holes of golf in the dramatic landscapes of Lofoten, Norway. Each hole represents the monthly financial burden faced by disabled households — and every swing is a statement that leisure, inclusion, and opportunity matter.
Through this endurance challenge, we aim to raise awareness and vital funds to provide funded opportunities for people with disabilities to access golf, be part of a community, and experience the life-changing benefits of sport.
Your support will help us turn awareness into action.
