Story

Ushaw: Historic House, Chapels & Gardens are opening our gates and flowerbeds to create a sanctuary for rehabilitated hedgehogs who can't be released back into the wild. Hope for Hedgehogs, a community run organisation from Ryton who rehabilitate and release hedgehog casualties, will be setting free a number of hedgehogs in a dedicated space in our grounds in just a few months, as well as a group of hedgehogs who need a little extra care. Wibbly the three-legged-hog and her friends will need a secure, protected environment where they can live in peace. We need you to help us build their sanctuary in the courtyard and continue to make Ushaw a safe place for wildlife.

£7 will feed 2 hogs for a year.

£15 will help us build a hog house or a feeding station.

£30 will pay for 3 metres of perspex fencing which will secure the sanctuary for Wibbly and his friends in the chapel courtyard.
