A Light Exists in Spring

AFSO remains the brightest light for university women in Afghanistan. This campaign brings that light to the days ahead by funding TOEFL testing, international guidance, partnerships, visa and travel costs. Help us bring spring to our students!

AFSO is committed to returning Afghan women to intellectual and professional life through synchronous remote classes taught by university professors around the world. We help these future leaders of Afghanistan build a bridge between their situation and enrollment in a degree-granting institution.

Story

Sadia is studying business management and had just begun at the university when the Taliban arrived. Hakeema is hoping to become a journalist. Hasinah was in her third year of Urban Design studies. Noor has her bachelor's degree in law and human rights and needs to complete her legal training. All these brilliant young women are imprisoned in their homes in Afghanistan. They have been studying online with AFSO, learning academic English, critical thinking, quantitative literacy, research skills, and university-level content in their fields. Now they are ready to spread their wings. "A light exists in spring" was Emily Dickinson's homage to the promise of the earliest days of the season. Let's fulfill our promise to these students with a season of generosity. Thank you!
