Join Team Theirworld at the Great North Run 2022!
This year is our 20th Anniversary and we're stepping up our efforts to end the global education crisis - a mission that has never been more important.
Even before Covid-19 shut down classrooms around the world, 260 million children weren't in school . Today almost three times that number aren't attending lessons. Without urgent action, more than half of the world's children won't have the most basic reading or writing skills by 2030.
The education crisis threatens not only the global economy, but some of the greatest challenges the world is facing - from climate change and poverty, to food security and global health. Education is key to making our world healthier, greener, fairer and wealthier.
We are incredibly proud of the work we are doing to support children:
Our campaigning in Greece was instrumental in persuading the government to commit to providing school places for all 26,000 school-age refugee children
Over the past 10 years, our projects have directly supported nearly 100,000 children and young people
Our campaigns have engaged more than 11 million supporters, leading to initiatives that have helped more than 4.5 million children go to school
We have big ambitions for the change we want to see in the world. In our anniversary year, we are calling on people across the world to join our campaign to help end the global education crisis and unleash the potential of the next generation.
