At Theiya Arts, we believe in the power of South Asian dance to bring people together, celebrate cultural diversity, and create impactful art. As a South Asian arts charity based in Edinburgh, we are committed to making these art forms more accessible and visible in Scotland. However, as we grow, so do our needs—and that’s where we need your support.
This year, our student base has expanded to 120 passionate dancers, and our annual student show has become a highlight of our calendar. To accommodate everyone, we’ve had to hire a lot of technical equipment such as large dance floor, lights, rigs, wings and curtains. This has been made possible by the generosity of local arts organisations and longterm collaborators who helped us source materials, lend us their own equipment or provided us with affordable hire costs. However, relying on this support every year is not sustainable, especially given the current funding cuts affecting ethnic minority-led charities like ours.
To ensure our future, we need to invest in our own equipment. This will allow us to focus our resources on our students, our performances, and our outreach work—without the constant worry of costs of hiring and transporting the equipment at every event. By donating to our campaign, you will be directly supporting the continued growth and sustainability of Theiya Arts.
