Heswall has always been a great place to live, but as youll know the high street has seen great changes in recent years. As a community we need to invest in the vibrancy of our town centre to attract people to use our local facilities and businesses. We have therefore planned to replace the Church of the Good Shepherd opposite the fire station in Telegraph Road, and the Parish Hall behind it on Pye Road. These buildings which were funded by the church and the community, have significant structural problems which mean they no longer meet our needs, or those of the wider community. We have therefore commissioned a new building, the design of which has been widely and well received. As a Parish we are very excited about this amazing project and have already raised money and pledges of £1.2 million towards a target of £1.8 million. We are grateful to you for considering helping us to improve the facilities in your local community. The design of The Lighthouse Church includes a community hall, meeting rooms of various sizes, a large central space, and hospitality areas, creating an extremely flexible building for both community and church use.
Opportunities for the future The Lighthouse Church is designed as an accessible and energy-efficient building that offers flexible spaces for use by the church and wider community. Its adaptability allows for one-to-one meetings, small groups and larger events for up to 300 people. The new building will enable us to further develop our Parishs extensive youth work and offer space for a wider range of activities for children, families, and people of all ages - whatever their individual needs.
