Support the Lotus Flower’s new UK space this Giving Tuesday

As many of you know, we’re thrilled to have recently taken on the Lotus Flower’s first ever UK space.

We’ve now got a lovely little unit right on the seafront in Hastings, and though we’ve been busy painting and renovating it, we desperately need help to finish it off so we can officially launch our work in the community in the New Year.

As you can see in the photos, we’ve managed to do a huge amount with very little, mainly by reusing and salvaging whatever we could from the original shop. But this Giving Tuesday, we really need your help so that we can purchase furniture, equipment and other essential supplies to ensure it’ll be a welcoming space for the local community.

It's going to be a multipurpose space and shop, and a vital base for us to fundraise so we can sustainably support our first projects and programmes in the UK, as well as continue to raise money for our work in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq.

The shop will sell authentic products from Kurdistan made by women, as well as items by local creatives. There will also be a co-working space for freelancers and those who work from home, providing a sense of community and a great opportunity to give back. In addition, we’ll be holding various events and workshops – which we’ll let you know more about soon.

Our target is to raise £2,000 on Giving Tuesday – which falls on November 28th. This amount will help us get the space ready for launch and kickstart our UK projects.

The great news is that every donation up to £2,000 will be match-funded by a private donor, which means each £1 donated will be doubled up to £2,000!
