The Lobiza Elephants, A story of a true conservationist.

There is a herd of elephants in South Africa that is in urgent need of assistance. The herd of 32 elephants are at risk of being destroyed as they have broken out of the reserve they were in. Beyers Coetzee, a committed conservationist who was trying to protect the giants and establish a wilderness reserve around them, was tragically killed by two of the elephant bulls earlier in February. The incident took place while Beyers and his team were trying to guide the elephants to a safe area, away from local villages.

Beyers committed his life to establishing the area to be known as Loziba Wilderness Reserve, a 40 000 hectare breathtaking piece of land, located in the Northern Parts of the Kwa-Zulu Natal Province of South Africa. The tragic loss of Beyers has now left his elephants exposed and it is critical that his fellow conservationists, who were assisting Beyers with saving the elephants, step in to keep his legacy alive.

In order to ensure the long term survival of these elephants, a fence needs to be built around the entire 40 000 hectare wilderness. It is also critical that the ecosystem be preserved as it is possibly one of the last remaining wilderness areas in South Africa which remains unprotected.

This reserve also has the potential to safely house a large number of black and white rhino along with a host of other threatened species such as lions and cheetah. Please assist us in securing this property and saving the lives of the Loziba elephants, in memory of Beyers Coetzee.

Any donation you can make will help towards saving these elephants. Please donate anything you can and help us share this campaign to raise awareness for these poor elephants.

Thank you for standing up for wildlife.
