Story

Continuing the legacy of the Q Trust Quiz, the Young Q Trust will be hosting their Muscular Quiztrophy event on Thursday 30th March 2023 at Wheatsheaf Community Hall. We will be using this page to accept donations from the quiz.

Q Trust Quiz 2021:

Last year's Q Trust Quiz on Thursday 18 November was a huge success, raising an amazing £55,000 towards providing support to the 110,000 people in the UK living with a muscle-wasting condition.

Your donation could enable faster access to potential life-changing treatments to those living with muscular dystrophy.

Q Trust 2020 campaign:

We're so very disappointed we couldn't get together last year for The Q Trust Quiz. We all look forward to these events, but Muscular Dystrophy UK (MDUK) has come to rely on them.

When the pandemic hit, and all fundraising events were cancelled or postponed, MDUK was left with a £2.8m gap in their income. That's close to the total amount you've helped The Q Trust raise since Mark and Jemima Reynolds and the Crewe family set it up 20 years ago. That money has brought hope to the 110,000 people in the UK living with muscle-wasting conditions, by funding cutting-edge research. Most notably, it helped establish the Oxford Translational Research Centre in partnership with Oxford University.

Can you imagine losing all of that income in one go? When it happened, MDUK did all it could to survive, creating new ways to fundraise, and save money; all their staff took pay cuts, and yet they still had to let a large number of staff go, and cancel their 2020 research grant round. All this was done to keep their vital services going, and to meet a 40 percent increase in demand for support and information. Many of the children and adults living with these conditions are clinically extremely vulnerable, their fear of COVID-19 elevated by their condition.

Now they need to fund new research and we must help! We may not be doing that over dinner cooked by Michelin-starred chefs, while watching Gifford's Circus or attending a quiz hosted by Dominic West, but we can still donate.

Please share this campaign with all the guests you'd usually invite to The Q Trust Quiz, and ask them if they would consider donating to MDUK what they would have spent on the night. Your support will mean the world to all the people who rely on everything the Q Trust does, and continue the lasting legacy The Q Trust has built with MDUK.

Your donation might just fund the breakthrough that everyone living with a muscle-wasting condition is longing for: an effective treatment or cure.

On behalf of MDUK and everyone they support: thank you.

We would like to say a huge thank you to The Tedworth Charitable Trust who have very generously awarded us a grant of £2,500 to support the work of Muscular Dystrophy UK.
