We support people with learning disabilities to lead and live great lives. Whether at home, in the community or a short break, our person first support promotes real choice and independence. We work with each person to design their own support, and enjoy their home, a career, and / or hobbies.

Story

Your donation will support people with learning disabilities to lead great lives in the North of England, including Greater Manchester, Cumbria, Lancashire and the North East. This could be in their own home, in the community or on a short break.

Each person is involved in designing their support plan so they can gain independence and enjoy their home, a career, hobbies amongst family and friends – just like everyone else.

Across the region, we are passionate about bringing people together and having an active community spirit. This includes regular co-produced events planned by the people we support through our events committee. For example, sports days, picnics and wellbeing events. Through this approach, we champion social opportunities for everyone we support and their families.

We are also particularly experienced with supporting younger people and their journey into adulthood. This can look different for everyone but can include support to stay at home, moving into their own home, finding employment or continuing in education.

If you would like to support a more specific area of our work, please email fundraising@thera.co.uk and we can talk you through what we are currently raising funds for and the difference your contribution will make.
