Story
For 30 years, The Swan has been using live music to move people, bring communities together, and share stories, whether that’s through our concerts, in schools, or care homes. We’ve toured internationally, recorded Grammy nominated albums, inspired thousands of school children, and found a home and a community for the orchestra right here in Warwick.
As we celebrate our 30th anniversary, we’re thinking about the future. The vision we had for the ensemble 30 years ago is even clearer today. We want high-quality live music to be an intrinsic part of life for everyone in our local communities, and we want to ensure that The Swan provides musical opportunities that excite and involve people from all backgrounds. To do that, we need your help. We’re aiming to raise £30,000 to celebrate 30 years of music – one of our most ambitious campaigns to date.
£30 contributes towards one of our concert tickets, giving the joy of live music to someone who couldn’t afford to attend otherwise.
£50 supports a bursary for a talented young musician to attend our Swan Youth Orchestra course.
£100 pays for a Swan musician to play for an afternoon at Acorns Children’s Hospice.
£300 funds two Swan musicians to visit two local care homes and bring music to their residents.
£600 pays for four Swan musicians to spend the day at Evergreen SEN School in Warwick.
£1,000 covers the fees for four Swan musicians for one of our Swan Sessions concerts in Warwick.
This appeal comes at a crucial time for The Swan. Sourcing funding for the arts has never been more challenging, and we are seeing the knock-on effect in schools across the country, with fewer young people than ever having access to music.
With your support, we can ensure that in 30 years’ time, The Swan will still be sharing extraordinary live music with local audiences and communities.
