For over three and a half decades East London Dance has been dedicated to championing and serving the independent dance artists, young people and local communities of east London.

From our state of-the-art home at the Talent House and out across east London and beyond, we provide world-class, transformative dance, creativity and wellbeing opportunities and experiences - with a focus on Street, Club, South Asian and African Diaspora styles - to those who face the highest barriers to participation and creative opportunity.

Through deep partnerships with schools and communities, we create safe, joyful, and aspirational spaces where young people can grow, belong, and thrive. Specifically, we use dance, coaching, co-design and community connection to build confidence, resilience, creative expression, and mental and physical wellbeing in our young participants, igniting a joy for dance to last a lifetime.

For our artists we provide mentoring, coaching, production support, free studio space, holistic training from business skills to trauma informed practice, as well as commissioning, platforming and networking opportunities.

Through this we aim to champion and support the career development of culturally diverse industry pioneers and leaders who will challenge and shift the status quo, inspiring future generations of our east London communities to confidently share their voices and stories though their own creativity.

Each year, we support over 12,000 participant engagements with free and low-cost programmes that improve wellbeing, raise aspirations and strengthen community connection.
