Story
On the 20th of September they’ll be hiking three of West Dorset's most iconic peaks : Thorncombe Beacon (157m), Golden Cap (191m) – the highest point on the South Coast – and Colmer’s Hill (127m).
The team will take on the full 9.3-mile route in one go to raise vital funds for the Battens Charitable Trust.
The Battens Charitable Trust was set up in 1985 to enable grants to be made to registered charities and for charitable purposes in Somerset, Dorset and adjoining counties. In the last decade alone, the trust has donated approximately £537,000 and counting. Beneficiaries have been as diverse as local schools, youth organisations, hospitals and hospices, local foodbanks, wildlife organisations, disability groups and the arts. As Charitable Trust celebrates it’s 40th anniversary in 2025, it is more determined than ever to continue its legacy of giving back.
