Our CEO, Ashley McCaul, is leading our team as they take on the challenge of a 21km race through East London.
ThinkForward works to empower disadvantaged and disengaged young people in the UK. We equip them with the skills and experience they need to move into work after they finish school. Everything we do is centred around giving young people the autonomy and confidence they need to be successful so that they have control over their lives and futures.
No one should leave school without a plan and without hope. Our coaches make sure that young people are ready for their future, with the skills and belief they need to achieve.
Yasin graduated from the programme and is now studying at university:
Before ThinkForward I was ready to accept that I was going to have to be in a bad situation at school. That should never have been my mindset. ThinkForward was the system that really showed me that you're not alone when you seek help. At first I wanted to leave ThinkForward because I thought it was a waste of time. I didn't understand what a coach would do. I stayed on and that's probably been the best decision I've made. I've come so far and I'm just a normal boy from East London.
Letitia, a recent graduate from Nottingham, is studying to become a football coach:
Before I joined ThinkForward I was always being excluded for getting involved in silly situations with others. I moved to another school and wanted to quit PE, which was my passion. I joined ThinkForward and my coach really helped me with getting organised. I became more solution focused. In the future I hope to be a professional football coach for men and women and practise coaching in different countries such as Brazil and America.
Connor, one of our young people in Kent, had attendance below 80%, a negative friend group, and was not achieving good grades. Since joining ThinkForward he wants to become a chef and has had the chance to meet the head chef at the National Theatre, as well as touring the kitchen at the River Café. He is now one of ThinkForward's ambassadors, representing his peers and speaking to various audiences about the benefits of the programme:
My communication has improved massively, I used to be really shy and self-conscious, but now I'm a lot more confident. ThinkForward helped me deal with difficult situations. Your coach becomes your friend who you can trust. He's someone I can rely on, his door is always open, for anything. As you get older you realise you can't do things on your own, you need support.
Rain or shine, our coaches are a rock for the young people they work with. Your support will ensure coaches reach the young people who need them most.
