Thinking of you this Christmas

Campaign by Sixty-One

A bag of thoughtful Christmas gifts means so much to people in prison and reminds them that they aren't forgotten. Will you join with us and others across Bristol to give over 1,400 prisoners in our three local prisons a bag of gifts this Christmas?

SixtyOne supports people with a criminal conviction to lead meaningful crime-free lives. We do this by inspiring, enabling & empowering the local community to provide the relational and practical support people need in, and on leaving prison, through: Mentoring, Hubs, Gift Projects and partnerships

Story

“Thank you for the gifts that you supply us every Christmas. They are a constant that we can all, no matter the faith or belief, look forward to and enjoy.”

Christmas is a very difficult time for people in prison: away from their families, staying in their cells for long hours, and the normal regime put on hold for the holidays. For many this will be the only outside contact they have over the holiday period. The unexpected gift of a bag of gifts from people they do not know, can really lift their spirits. These small acts of kindness remind people that they are not forgotten, that there are people who care about them and that there is welcome and support for them when they are released.

The bags cost approx. £8.50 each, yet they are received as though they were made of gold.

Please help us by donating to this project, to bring a little joy and hope to prisoners at Christmas and beyond.

(Any donations received over and above the cost of the bags will go towards running costs and work of Sixty-One)
