John, Luke and Kit's fundraiser for Henley on Thames Churches Debt Centre

John, Luke and Kit are to climb the world's highest free-standing mountain Mt Kilimanjaro 5,895 meters in support of Henley on Thames Churches Debt Centre

Founded by four local Henley-on-Thames Christian Churches, we offer a free of charge service to local residents in severe financial distress, regardless of their faith. We aim to restructure their outstanding debts, together with providing emotional support, in order to help restore them to financial security. Fundraising will help us to extend the reach of our much-needed service to help more local people in need.

Story

In July John Thompson, and his two sons, Luke (18) and Kit (16) who both serve at St Mary's, Henley, will attempt to climb Mt Kilimanjaro.

Luke is currently undertaking his A Levels at Abingdon, Kit is doing his GCSEs.

They are hoping to mark this milestone year both physically (and mentally) with the summit of the tallest mountain in Africa and the highest free standing in the world, Mt Kilimanjaro.

"Kili" stands at 5,985m above sea level.

They intend to use this challenge to raise vital funds for The Henley Debt Centre. The centre provides free financial advice and support to residents in the Henley area.

"We believe it is a charity of most importance as your generous donations will enable the team at to provide essential advice, support, and resources to those in need, transforming lives within our community," said Mr Thompson.
