Three Legged Challenge · 17 October 2020 to 18 October 2020 ·
Gary Shaughnessy, Chair of Parkinson's UK Board of Trustees, and Andy Tucker planned to attempt breaking not one, but three world records in 24 hours. And in the process, raise vital funds to fund pioneering research to drive forward new treatments for Parkinson's.
The current situation with coronavirus means that the trio of world records attempts cant go ahead as originally planned. But Parkinson's hasn't stopped for coronavirus, so neither will we. The three-legged race will be going ahead, virtually!
"Those who know me, will know that I never let my Parkinsons hold me back. So Andy and I are still planning to break the 24hour three-legged world record of 116km on 17 October and would like people to join us virtually for part of the way - creating the largest three-legged event in the world - ever!
While we are trying to beat 116km, we'd love to have more than 768 pairs join us virtually and spur us on. We're asking people around the world, complying with your local social distancing guidelines, to challenge yourself to your own three-legged challenge of at least 200m. So grab your partner a member of your family or a friend, don your leg tie and join us for this exciting world beating event!!" Gary Shaughnessy
