These amazing individuals are raising money for Little Beam Foundation (charity number 1192658). All monies go directly to supporting children and young people from 3 - 18 in Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland.
Please donate if you can.
UPDATE - 24th July:
With the challenge only 8.5 weeks away, this weekend saw 5 of the squad take on 13 miles of a very wet Dovedale to test new kit and terrain. While the rain came down, our spirits remained high, and we all have a good idea of which muscles might need an extra stretch! Transport is organised, we have some extremely kind volunteer drivers, and we can’t thank the crew from Little Beam enough for their support 💛. This challenge will push all of us out of comfort zones and not only test our bodies but also our minds as we push through training and then the challenge itself. Everyone remains determined to complete the challenge because we all know just how crucial the work of Little Beam is. 24 hours of hard work is the least we can do to raise vital funds for children and young people that need it.
UPDATE - 15th August:
We are now 5.5 weeks away from our challenge and it is starting to feel VERY real!
We have all enjoyed our holidays and are back and ramping up the training with gusto!
From partying in Florida, hiking in Switzerland and exploring coastal paths, we have all been keeping up the daily step total.
A big shout out to Dan and Julie who are our drivers for the challenge, we couldn’t do this without them and thank them both for their time and generous support.
Thank you to everyone for supporting us, and please do look out for a video on Little Beam’s social media pages where you can find out more.
UPDATE - 9th September:
Well, here we are, 2 weeks away from our challenge. Nervous excitement is setting in, but spirits are high and everyone is training hard.
Final kit prep is underway, the snacks list is written, and the itinerary is complete.
Most of all, we’ve all been reflecting on just how much of a difference this money can make.
*£100 pays for 10 emotional literacy sessions
*£130 pays for 6 1:1 sessions of animal therapy
*£500 pay for clinical phycologist sessions
We are more determined than ever to raise as much as possible to ensure children get the best possible support.
