Urgent appeal: supporting families under pressure, before they reach crisis.

Parenting can be tough. For families across Cheshire West and Chester, ordinary pressures such as money worries, isolation or a child struggling at school can pile up and tip into crisis. Thriving Families steps in before that happens, giving parents practical, in-home support to navigate life's ups and downs with confidence.

It's working. Delivered with Koala North West and Home-Start Warrington and Cheshire, Thriving Families supported 244 families in its first year alone, and the programme is de-escalating 92.5% of the families it supports, meaning they avoid statutory or crisis intervention. Early support costs less, in every sense, than a crisis.

We have set out to grow Thriving Families to £1.2 million. £700,000 has already been awarded and Cheshire West and Chester Council is contributing a further £200,000, taking us to £900,000. That leaves £300,000 for our community, donors and local businesses to help us reach urgently, by 30th November.

£1,000 can help support one family for a year. Every gift adds up, and local businesses can sponsor a family outright, match public donations or get their teams involved.
