Story

Gables Farm Dogs and Cats Home have taken in a cat with one of the most horrendous skin problems they have ever seen. Titch the Itch has always been plagued with skin issues, but her condition has been left untreated causing very painful and infected open wounds. Gables have had great success with skin issues in the past and were determined to offer her help as soon as they were able to do so. However, upon her arrival staff were shocked by her condition and it was strikingly clear that she needed immediate medical attention. She was rushed straight up to their vets, Filham Park in Ivybridge, to receive treatment and some much needed pain relief.

Titch the Itch will need treatment to clear up the infection and then be put onto a specialist hypoallergenic diet. None of her previous owners were able to afford the treatments and specialist food needed, so her condition has been left to worsen. Thankfully her latest owner realised she needed more help than she could give her and contacted the team at Gables to ask them to take her into their care.

To alleviate her obvious pain and discomfort once and for all; and continue with her ongoing and potentially life long treatment, it is thought that it will cost the home around £700.

General Manager Claire Sparkes says: It was such a shock to see this poor cat in such a state but we are just glad that we are able to help her and alleviate her suffering. As we are a non-euthanasia charity we will do whatever it takes to get this lovely cat the specialist treatment she so desperately needs.
