tKC has a platform lift that is needed to ensure all rooms are accessible. The lift had a major fault in Sept 2023 and this campaign was started to raise funds for the repair. As of Dec 2023 the lift was fully repaired and actually covered in full by the lift supplier.
If you donated to the original repair fund and would like to request a refund please get in touch: enquiries@thekenilworthcentre.com, otherwise all funds received will remain in the Lift Repair and Maintenance Fund for future repairs and maintenance.
The lift is a platform lift and requires ongoing maintenance and often repair, in addition to this we would like to install an autodialer in the lift, to add an extra level of safety. This means should their be a breakdown while you are in the lift, not only can you sound the alarm, but a series of emergency contact numbers will be automaticaly called.
The cost of the auto-dialer is over £3000.
Without access to the lift, the rooms available to hire that are upstairs become inaccessible, reducing our ability to raise income to keep the centre running and deliver high quality youth and community provision.
As a charity, we do not own the building, and we need to raise these funds via donations, sponsorship & grants.
