Story
We are The Natashas Project is an international contemporary dance/physical theatre company founded in 2013. We use dance to inform and equip the public about Human Trafficking and Modern Day Slavery and support survivors through restorative dance workshops.
This year for Antislavery Day (18th of Oct) we are hosting a 5k fun run! This can be done by anyone that would like to help us raise awareness of the issue of modern slavery and help us raise funds to help keep our restorative dance workshops for survivors going!
You can do the 5k at any point over Antislavery weekend and in anyway you would like, run outside, run on a treadmill or do a 5k walk! Or simply spread the word for others to donate to our project.
According to the latest report on forced labour by the International Labour Organisation: An estimated 40.3 million victims are trapped in modern-day slavery. This is not a historic problem. It happens worldwide and most certainly happens here, in the UK.
Our restorative dance workshops are fun trauma informed dance sessions that survivors can do to develop confidence, self-esteem and physical fitness in a safe and joyful environment. Participants have found it helps them sleep at night, with one survivor sharing that the workshop days are the only night of the week they sleep well.
Your donations truly do make the world of difference! Thank you!
