For several months we have been monitoring Tobys health. There has been something low grade going on, not quite as playful as usual or the weight he should be, he has had numerous vet visits. He has had several blood screenings which have shown nothing remarkable. Despite drug therapy Toby remains the same. Now we have decided to do some more radical investigations by taking him to the veterinary hospital for ultrasounds, scans and maybe a biopsy if necessary. We need to know, even if it is bad news, then we can deal with what is in front of us, treat the issue or manage it. Toby is only around eight years old, we tend not to expect severe ailments, but of course, as we know from the tragic loss of his Mum Bluebelle, it can and does happen. Does he have an inherited condition from his Mum? Following a post mortem dear Bluebelle was found to have an aggressive cancer of the adrenal system, there was nothing that could have been done for her even if we had known. We are so anxious that Toby does not have anything similar.
Toby will be going to the equine hospital on Tuesday 19th March, tomorrow, for the day, maybe two. His travelling companion will be his friend Rupert.
We never like to ask, but.....please would you consider helping us with the hospital investigation fees for Toby? We have had some huge vet costs this year alone, have saved many donkeys in need of veterinary treatment we have also had quite a number of veterinary dental procedures, involving sedation and many other donkey health issues for which we must always get the vet.
We do feel some trepidation about pending results for Toby, but it is necessary to get to the bottom of this.
Thank you so much for visiting this page and reading about dear Toby.....
