Story
When little Henry, a young Bearded Dragon, arrived at our rescue, she was cold, underweight, and too weak to lift her head. She had been found abandoned in a small plastic tub with no heating, no water, and no chance of surviving on her own. Like so many reptiles we take in, Henry wasn’t just unwanted—she was unseen.
But the moment she arrived, everything changed.
Our team warmed her gently, rehydrated her, and began the slow process of nursing her back to health. Day by day, she grew stronger. The first time she ate, we cheered. The first time she explored a proper enclosure, she lifted her head toward the light, curious and alive in a way she never had the chance to be before.
Henry’s story is not rare. Every week, reptiles arrive needing urgent care—snakes, lizards, tortoises—each with their own story of neglect, abandonment, or simply owners who can no longer cope. And with every new arrival, our small rescue stretches itself a little thinner.
We want to say yes to every animal who needs us.
But our current space is no longer enough.
That’s why we’re launching our campaign to raise £12,000 for a new, safer, purpose-built home—a place where reptiles like Henry can recover, thrive, and finally experience the lives they deserve.
Your support doesn’t just help us move; it transforms lives.
It turns fear into safety.
Loneliness into care.
Survival into recovery.
