Christmas morning with St Michael's might be a bit different, but thanks to our amazing team, we make sure the magic comes to every single patient and family. Whether it's here in our In-patient Unit, or out in the community, our team leave their own families on Christmas morning to come and make the day as special as possible for those families who are seeing in the big day with us.
Our care doesn't stop for Christmas and it continues around the clock. Over the Christmas period our phone line will remain open for those in need and the doors will be open for patients in their final days of life, as well as support for their family to spend one last Christmas together. Our kitchen remains open and the turkey goes in the oven. Carols are sung, presents opened and the occasional tipple is poured! These things may seem simple, but at the most pivotal time of people's lives, they are the moments that truly matter.
We can only make this possible thanks to your donations. Every pound makes a difference however much you can give.
Donate to help us this Christmas:
- £5 could pay for a patient's festive lunch with all the trimmings, cooked in house by our catering team.
- £15 could pay to keep one of our Hospice at Home vehicles on the road for the day, visiting patients in their own homes, so they can spend Christmas in familiar surroundings.
- £20 could pay for a patient to have a relaxing soak in one of our hydrotherapy baths.
- £52 could pay for a family member to stay overnight so they can be close to their loved one at Christmas
- £160 could pay for pain medication for a day for all our patients
- £650 could pay for a patient to stay in one of our In-patient Unit beds for 24 hours, giving them around the clock care
£9,000 would pay to run our entire In-patient Unit for the whole of Christmas Day. Please help us reach this target and make a real difference this Christmas. Thank you for your support and kindness.
