One In A Million engages predominantly with disadvantaged children and young people, through Sports, the Arts and Enterprise. We use formal and informal education to break the cycles of deprivation over their young lives, valuing and celebrating their uniqueness, and letting them know they are ‘one in a million’.
Since we began our first project in 2006, we have remained working with local children and young people delivering programmes to around 1500 young people every year. Our passion has been to remain a continuous presence in their lives and increase the depth of support we can offer them.
We want to make a difference to the lives of children and young people. Although we work within parts of Bradford district, which fall within the top 1% of national deprivation, our motivation is to help change the negative statistics that hover over all children and young people so that they can become responsible citizens who thrive in life and in their communities.
