Story
We're staff and volunteers from Touchbase Care. We support people with physical disabilities, learning disabilities and neurodiverse conditions to live lives of greater wellbeing and independence. The people in our community have access inclusive, person- centred programs that nurtures confidence, independence, and purpose.
We daily see the positive impact that building community has on our members, and so we're doing this sponsored walk to demonstrate how much this service means to us and our community.
There is so much joy at Touchbase and it goes both ways. - Mike, volunteer.
Here's what we're doing
On March 28th, a team of us will be walking from the Touchbase Care centre on Tontine Street, over the cliffs of Dover and beyond to the village of Kingsdown.
By including a couple of diversions the whole route is about 15 miles.
We'll be passing iconic sites such as Abbot's Cliff Sound Mirror, Samphire Hoe, Foreland Lighthouse and finishing on the beach at Kingsdown.
Here's Why
Last year our members did a sponsored walk event, taking fundraising into their own hands and spreading joy. It was a huge inspiration so we're copying them!
Touchbase Care is a charity that creates community, supported by community. Our work is funded in part by the philanthropic giving of individuals, by donating to this fundraiser you are contributing to our good work.
