MNDefiance is pleased to announce that we will be taking on The Tour De Fiance in April 2025.
The Tour De Fiance will see the team take on cycling from North to South Wales, accumulating over 250 miles over the course of 3 days. The team will be starting at Holyhead and finishing at Abertillery the home of The MNDefiance Trust, mostly using the Lôn Las Cymru route.
After the successes of Ten-Y-Fan, 54 Miles For MND and the other campaigns that have supported the trust (raising well over £20,000) the need to be able to issue grants to those who need them, is as important as ever.
The MNDefiance Trust (RCN 1210270) was set up by Mark and Steph Williams, knowing first hand, the difficulties that MND brings, they are selflessly helpful others, with the help of the trustees and the Defiance Army, that have assembled in their name to be able to undertake these fundraising endurance events. An MND diagnosis can be like a hand grenade going off. It obviously inflicts massive damage to the individual diagnosed, both physically and mentally but also causes devastation to those in the family unit and beyond. The MNDefiance Trust aims to combat this destruction it can cause in many ways. We offer grants for events like family days out or holidays – to be able to give families opportunities to create lasting memories for both the family and the person living with the condition. The trust also grants funds to ease the financial pressures created by a diagnosis and provide assistance for things like house adaptations, to make living with MND that little bit easier.
Again, this is no small feat that the team is undertaking but they understand the importance of continuing to raise funds for the community and to keep raising the profile of MND. Again they’re they’re willing to put themselves into those dark places under the flag of MNDefiance to do so and to show support for Mark and his family.
