The "Church on the Hill" is a Grade II listed building and is an architectural triumph! The congregation of the 1950's raised the money too build the Church, a few of whom are still a part of our Acsension family. There is a lot of Plymouth history preserved within the building. It must survive.

Story

The Church was built in the 1950s using the construction materials of the time. Concrete was used for the pointing and the roof of the bell tower.

Sadly the concrete cancer is the result. The pointing is erroding and water is seeping through causing exentise damage to the the internal plastered walls.

The tower, including the porch, is very damp. The problem is getting worse.

The pointing will need to be painstakingly removed and replaced, and the inside replastered. This will of course require scaffolding.

The wooden fascias of the whole church and in dire need of renovation as are the cast iron gutters and downpipes, which are very rusty.

We are deparately trying to fundraise and would be so greatful for any donations, however small, to help.
