Story
If you see a bright purple tractor making its way around the North Coast 500, you’re not imagining things...that’s me, Allan, and I’m on a mission.
This September, I’m swapping horsepower for staying power, tackling the famous NC500 route in my trusty John Deere 2038R tractor in 5 consecutive overnight stints. My patience, need for speed, and ability to sit still behind the wheel will all be tested in my freshly wrapped Heather’s Heroes tractor, to raise funds for a cause that’s close to my heart.
Heather’s Heroes was founded in memory of Heather Dallas in January 2024 and is committed to supporting a network of charities that offer support, care, and resources to those in need during their most challenging times.
My journey won’t be quick, with a top speed of 13.7mph, and a lack of my usual driving comforts along the way! The journey will require maximum concentration to get me through the long dark drives, as I'll be missing out on some of the best scenery the NC500 has to offer.
I'll be aiming to complete the route by arriving into the Black Isle Showground at the Heather's Heroes Highlands Fun Day, to mark the occasion and celebrate this incredible cause.
The aim is simple: make people smile, raise awareness for Heather’s Heroes, and gather as much support as possible for this brilliant cause.
Please give what you can, every pound will keep the wheels turning and the fundraising growing. If you spot me on the road, give me a wave or a toot of the horn. And if you can spare a few quid, scan the code on the back of the tractor or donate right here.
By donating, you’ll help the impact of Heather’s Heroes to reach more people, offer more support, and make a lasting difference in our local communities.
Any kind donations will be greatly appreciated and together, we can make a real difference.
Thank you for your support!
Allan
