Treloar’s is a charity that provides an outstanding specialist school and college for physically disabled children and young people, helping them to be as independent as possible.

Story

"For our students staying in Gloucester House, it’s more than a place to live. It’s a place for finding friendships, discovering independence and building confidence. It’s home."

Many of our students at Treloar’s require support day and night – with over half of our students staying in residential accommodation.

Gloucester House is in desperate need of renovation and we’re raising funds to re-develop bedrooms and bathrooms. Whilst we provide outstanding care for our students, our outdated spaces make daily life more complex. Essential specialist equipment just doesn’t fit:

• bedrooms are too small to accommodate large wheelchairs and vital medical equipment

• multiple staff are often needed to provide care in student bedrooms with limited space

• shared bathrooms are away from the bedrooms meaning personal care is long-winded

• students have to be moved from their bed to a hoist and then either to a shower trolley or toilet chair

Plans for the renovation include:

• larger bedrooms

• ensuite or Jack and Jill bathrooms

• ceiling hoists linking bedrooms and bathrooms

• wider door frames

This transformation can’t wait and we need your help to make it happen. With your support, we can create modern, fully accessible spaces for our students.

Please donate today and help us reach our target.

"Together, we can empower students to live more independently and achieve more than they thought possible."

Should we fundraise for more than the cost of renovating Gloucester House, any remaining donations will be used for planned improvements to other residential properties to support students at key transition stages.
